W.I.L.D.! Talent: Serena Smart

The Jamaican and Irish-born beauty embodies the moniker of her hometown Queens, NY. Serena Smart’s vocal abilities were recognized by her father from an early age. Honing her talents through education in performing arts, Serena gained notoriety at The Apollo, where she belted out Beyoncé’s "Listen", the lead single from the musical film Dreamgirls. Coming in close at second place, her fan base began to grow.

Cultivating an insurmountable passion for music artistry, then, 18-year-old Serena decided to leave college to pursue the life she knows she is meant to live. Releasing her first independent single "Nervous", Serena piqued the interest of Mini Boom; son and prodigy of legendary director Benny Boom. The duo went on to create a single entitled "Focused" featuring Busta Rhymes’ son, Trillian; which was picked up by the CW network for hit show Black Lightning during its final season.
